A Dog’s Life

It was a cold wintery day.

-17 degrees in the morning.

Too cold for walks, chasing squirrels,  or even just sitting on the deck watching for coyotes.

What’s a dog to do?

It’s Here

The day before yesterday was much like any other day this fall.  Cool but not freezing, the fields brown and boring. The cows and sheep still grazing a bit and managing to find something to eat.

The chickens didn’t let a little snow stop them from scratching in the dirt.

PJ was her usual demanding self.  “Hey, what about us?  What are we eating today?  How can we find the grass with that white stuff floating around?”

I couldn’t argue with her, the sheep needed some hay today too.

“Thanks June, you’re a real pal!”

Everyone is happy, even knowing that winter is on its way.  It’s not here yet, but it’s just around the corner.
