Summer brings a lot of visitors to the farm.

These three sand hill cranes have been hanging around outside my front gate for a few days now.

They are even comfortable sharing the pasture with the sheep.

These two felt safe wandering through this summer…better keep away in the fall though.

Emma sits on the deck keeping watch, waiting to see who will come by next.

The cows have been roaming the whole eighty acres ever since the hay was cut.  They always come back for a big drink of water…follow the leader style.

They invited a friend in for awhile…hopefully the father of the calves next spring.

It’s was nice to have company while I worked in the garden. The baby calves felt safe getting close with a fence between us.

There have been a few frosts and it’s time to start cleaning the garden out.
